Dont talk.. Just walk

Walking for lions have started their walking  journey from Namibia to Botswana, and I got the opportunity to also join this awareness campaign and adventure for lions  in the race against time.
Walking for lions started by walking to reach all of you guys back home, so we together can learn about the importance of conserving lions and why we must act now. The easy job is the walking, cause that people have been able to do with little problem since the beginning of time, the hard part is to got out there and re-establish the numbers of lions and tell people that they should not kill them.
SO lets prepare for the hard part by starting with the easy part: .... Share this link with as many people you know and tell them to join walking for lions the global awareness campaign, where we bring conservation to your living room

Don't just sit there.. share it!!

Cheers Aleks

Det NYE Interview

Its always a funny thing to get these cover reminders from the modern world, when you are sitting in the bush with fumbled hair, dirty hands and feet.

The concept of help for self-help

The consept of help for selfhelp.

Now what does this phrase mean, and how do we use it?
When you hear the sentence spelled out slow, you start thinking oh yes help for selfhelp is when you help someone to help themselves. This is the logic way of thinking it and I also think that that was the initial idea of the sentence.
But like most books and movies, politics and religions they can all be intrepeted in different ways and end up with a million different meanings and explainations.
Why is it that we always step away from what was intended. If love and hate is the components in a relationship. Why do we step away from love when we hate, and the other way around?
Why do we party and celebrate, when our life is falling to pieces?
Why do we call up friends to talk about their problems, instead of dealing with our own. Why do we twist and turn sentences, books, scenarioes and weather to something else then the actual origin?

DO we fear death just because it is a truth we cannot twist or escape?
So help for selfhelp like i mentioned originally means  giving help so that someone can help them self. But now my question is today with all the outreach, and campaigns against or for the one or the other. Is the helper actually helping only others or are they also helping themselves?
And if so then it would be a mending of truth to call yourself a provider of help for selfhelp for someone, when you are also giving help for selfhelp to yourself.
Would that not be reaching out to be reached?
And would that not open more roads to knowledge by acknowledging that we all need more input and ”help” and nurturing and challanges to grow greater. Hell maybe we even open our eyes to how great we can be together on a global level.
But i guess we do not need to be great because in the single minded perception we  are already all of that.
But does that perception not make us even smaller?

Who was crazy enough?

Today I woke up in my bed in Norway, covered by two duvets, and I was still freezing cold. I dreamt about the mornings in Africa, and how the sun burns its way into my room and onto my face.
I had walk outside to get more firewood for the fireplace, in my pajamas, and maaaaan that was cold. Minus 20 degrees Celsius. Holymoly macaroni. And I could not help but ask myself:
who was crazy enough to be the first man/woman to settle in this loony cold country. I mean how could it have made sense in someones head to say: - Oh well I can't feel my hands or toes, but lets live here!

The first people arrived in Norway after 7,000 BC when rising temperatures after the end of the last ice age made the country habitable, but hey lets get real I was not exactly tropical here. The first Norwegians lived by hunting (elk, deer, seal and whales) and by fishing.
After 3,000 BC farming was introduced into Norway.
During the 9th century Vikings from Norway raided Scotland, England, Ireland and France. They even raided as far south as Spain. But the Norwegians were not just raiders. They settled in the Hebrides (islands west of Scotland). And the Shetland and Orkney islands. Norwegians also settled the Isle of Man (between England and Ireland). I mean It was that times charter holiday. Lets do anything to escape Norways cold climate.
No wonder the Vikings that stayed behind drank so much, this way they maybe forgot about how cold it was.

But I think one thing we forget in a time of being cold, where everything seems hopeless and your body feels like and ice cube, and that is that how would we know what cold was I we never experienced warm. And even though we are cold on the outside, we are still warm on the inside. So we are not cold, we are both! Maybe that thought will warm you up.
